CONFIDENTIALITY POLICY

Confidentiality Policy:

To protect everyone that comes forward with credible information on illegal practices or violations of the law, all correspondence and interaction with the FDL regarding public corruption and government abuse is kept strictly confidential. Sensitive information is restricted to a limited number of key FDL officers and trained professionals. Individuals who have access to this data must meet stringent requirements.

In certain instances, the FDL may release information to appropriate government agencies or third parties when required by law, or when requested by subpoena or court order. FDL may also release information that assists investigators, prosecutors, or third parties in discovery with respect to valid legal claims, in order to prevent harm to those reporting public corruption or government abuse.

With your consent, FDL may disclose your information in the interest of continuing investigations.

Each volunteer candidate is screened. The extent of screening of each individual depends on the nature of the tasks that will be performed by the volunteer. Screening often involves carefully examining each application, conducting background checks (in order to verify information in the resume, identify any legal problems, etc.), and interviewing the most suitable candidates.
